Enterprise Workshops
Work West, to support and encourage individuals, who wish to find out more about self-employment, identify a business idea or acquire enterprising skills, run workshops throughout the local area for anyone interested in starting a business, some of which are specifically aimed at the following groups:
- Women
- Young People
- Unemployed
Work West also run regular ideas generation workshops for people who would consider self employment, to assist them in finding a business idea.
In addition, information is provided on accessing grant support.
Loan Fund
Work West through the Enterprise Northern Ireland Loan Fund are able to offer loans to small businesses in the start up or growth phases.The Loan Offers:
- Loans from £500 upwards
- Financial planning support to determine the funding needs of the business
- Flexible repayment terms
- A competitive interest rate
- No arrangement fee (For new start businesses only)
- Access to secondary loans (assuming no repayment issues)
Application Procedure
A Work west Business Adviser will assist you if required in the completion of the application form. Your adviser will inform you of the decision made including any conditions.Transfer of Funds
Once approved the loan will be processed centrally and the money transferred directly into the Business Bank Account. Your repayments will be made as regular direct debits over the agreed period of the loan.Legal Information
You will be required to sign a promissory note at the time of accepting your letter of offer. This is a legal document and commits you to repay the loan in the time period agreed. Legal action will be taken against anyone who does not meet the commitments accepted under the letter of offer.
